Our Scripture reading today is Luke 24:52-53.
Verse 53, "And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen."
There is a lesson to be learned from these concluding verses of a very long chapter. I should say lessons to be learned, but one in particular stood out to me this morning. It has to do with the order in which everything took place. After spending time with Jesus, the people went to the temple and worshipped and praised God. They did not just go once to the temple. The people who spent time with Jesus went faithfully to the temple.
It seems to me that it would behoove to spend time with the Lord before coming to any church service. Possibly this is already part of your schedule. If not, I would strongly encourage it. If it is, I would encourage that we guard that time. It is the preparation for the miracle that opens the door to see it happen.
