Our Scripture reading today is John 6:5-6.
Verse 6, "And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do."
The omniscient One did not ask Philip a question for information. He asked the question to test Philip and the other disciples. Jesus knew exactly what was going to happen. It was not all about the miracle. This was definitely a teaching and faith building moment.
What has God brought into your life that needs His miracle working touch? Whatever it is, He is seeking to teach you and build your faith. He is proving you for something beyond your current trial. The miracle may not be the most important need you have. For all of us to please God, we need greater faith. The greater the trial, the greater our faith can increase. The greater faith we have, the more we can honour and glorify God.
