Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.
Verse 4, "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)"
A wise soldier will make sure they are using the proper weapons when going into combat. We are involved in daily combat of the spiritual kind. It is crucial that we are prepared with the right weapons. It seems that many Christians are too weak and are leaving the battle. Weakness comes when we attempt to fight in the flesh. “Apart from a mighty awakening and revival in the church, we are fighting a losing battle because we are resisting on carnal levels.” (Redpath)
One of if not the strongest weapon we have is TRUTH. John 8:32, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Our powerful enemy cannot withstand the power of the Word of God. God will enable us to pull down the strongholds in our life through the power of His Word. Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." God's Word continues to change lives giving victory to all who will claim it.
