Our Scripture reading today is Luke 4:9-12.
Verse 12, "And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God."
As we read the final temptation, the result is the same from the first two.  Satan misuses Scripture and Jesus Christ uses it properly.  Satan twisted a passage from Psalm 91 and Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 6:16.  The Lord Jesus knew how to rightly divide the word of truth.  2 Timothy 2:15, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
It is important that we know the Word of God in order that we might gain victory over temptation and we might know how to live.  When we know the truth, we will be able to discern error.  John 8:32, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."  Satan is and always will be the master deceiver.  Our defence system is based on our knowledge and understanding of the Word of God.  As the old saying goes, "A Bible verse a day keeps the devil away."
Have a wonderful Monday!
