Today’s Scripture reading is Matthew 5:23-25.
Verse 24, "...first be reconciled to thy brother."
This passage of Scripture is part of the Sermon on the Mount preached by the Lord Jesus.  The emphasis in this statement is when there is an offence to quickly make things right with the individual.  Our Heavenly Father sets the example for reconciliation in Romans 5:10, "For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."  The key to being reconciled to God was the death of Jesus Christ.  I would submit that my reconciliation with mankind will also involve death.  The sooner I am willing to die to self, the sooner the reconciliation can take place.  Keep in mind, God is completely holy and was willing to provide the death for the reconciliation process between us.  If necessary, be reconciled to thy brother or sister today!
