Our Scripture reading today is Joshua 10:11, "And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword."

The people of Israel were under attack by five kings of the Amorites. (verse 5)  They surrounded Gibeon and it looked as if victory would be theirs without any trouble.  Word got to Joshua that Gibeon was under attack and they needed help.  On their way to the battle, Joshua receives word from the Lord.  Joshua 10:8, "And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee."  God assured them of a victory!

We may not be living in times exactly like Joshua's day, however, we do have battles that seem overwhelming.  There is no doubt in my mind that many of us reading this passage of Scripture today need to hear the Lord say the same thing He said to Joshua.  Again, we more than likely do not need rocks to fall out of the sky, but we DO need God to do a miracle.  I am challenged when reading this Bible events to have faith to believe God can STILL do miracles comparable to what we read in Joshua 10.  Do you truly believe God can?  Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

Our God is still in the miracle working business!
