Our Scripture reading today is Romans 5:8-9.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."
The love of God for fallen mankind is beyond our human understanding. John 3:16, "For God so love the world..." If anyone deserves the wrath of God, it is sinners like you and me. Our sin deserved to be paid for by physical and spiritual death. Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death..." It is by the work of Jesus Christ on the cross that we are saved and freed from the wrath of God. He became sin for us. The love of God allowed the Son of God to take our death penalty on Him. Take time today to thank and praise our Heavenly Father for the sacrficial gift of eternal life.
So high the price He paid,
The nails the cross, the grave.
Such pardon He bestowed,
Such grace He showed.
No greater sacrifice, He gave His very life.
So deep His love, so high the Price.
