Our Scripture reading today is Luke 7:12-15.
Verse 13, "And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not."
It did not take Jesus long to see the need and to have compassion on this grieving widow.  She was in a desperate situation.  Her husband was already dead and now her son dies.  Her son was her last source of income.  This was just the type of person Jesus was looking to help.  He had the power then and has the power today to bring hope out of any tragedy.  His compassion came through His eyes.
The challenge continues to be that we would open our eyes and see those in need around us.  As we discovered Sunday night, Joseph saw the sadness of the butler and baker and it changed the course of the nation of Israel.  God had compassion on us when we were dead in sin.  God sent His Son to die for sinners like you and me.  Our only hope was to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.  The gift of eternal life was made possible because of the love of God.  (See Ephesians 2:4-7)
Be on the lookout today for someone who needs a message of hope.
Be prepared to point them to Jesus!
