Our Scripture reading today Luke 11:5-8.

Verse 6, "For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?"

It seems that each time I read this story, there is something else to learn or be reminded of.  One friend goes to another friend very late at night.  He is seeking provision for another friend who has unexpectedly showed up at his house.  There is an urgent need for someone else and he knows who would have something to eat.

All around us are people in need.  Many of them do have physical needs but many more have spiritual needs.  We all know people who need help.  There are times when they come to us at unusual "times" with a need that we cannot meet.  The story in our text this morning should challenge us to take those needs over and over again to the One Who can give us the "bread" for our friend.  He will give us all that we need.
