Today's Scripture reading is 1 Corinthians 9:25-27.
Verse 27, "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection:"
The Apostle Paul uses an athletic analogy that greatly helps us in our daily walk with the Lord Jesus.  When he referred to putting his body into subjection it meant that he was living a disciplined life. He wanted his life to be a Godly voice before and after preaching a sermon.  Possibly you have heard me say that our lives are a sermon in shoes.  This is not an original quote but it is quite true.  The way we live our lives is preaching very loudly to those around us.  In fact, if we want to share the Gospel with a co-worker or neighbour, it is very important that our walk matches our talk.  In other words, the way we live should match the message we preach.  It is important to live a daily disciplined life!
