Our Scripture reading today is Luke 17:9-10.
Verse 10, "So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do."
We could never ever out love, give, or serve our Lord. He is the One Who gave us the ability to serve Him. John 15:5, "...for without me, ye can do nothing." Out of a love for Him, we should be willing to do all that is asked of us. It is our duty, but it is also our privilege to represent and serve our King. “Growing saints think themselves nothing; full-grown saints think themselves less than nothing.” (Spurgeon)
As we gather for church this morning and evening, come with an attitude of thanksgiving. Come not just to be served, but come to serve. Ask God to show you someone you can serve today. Ask God to show you different ways you can serve Him. All the while not looking for any recognition, but to bring Him glory and honour.
