Our Scripture reading today is John 17:1-4.
Verse 3, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
Today's reading is the beginning of Jesus Christ' High Priestly prayer. This is a prayer He actually prayed to His Father. A clear explanation is given in verse 3 regarding what someone must know to have eternal life. "Eternal life is found in an experiential knowledge (ginosko) of both God the Father and Jesus Christ, God the Son."
We have the responsibility and privilege to be ambassadors of Jesus Christ. It is our job to pass on the knowledge of God and Jesus Christ that has been given to us. This should start and be emphasized mightily in our homes. Does your spouse know God and Jesus Christ? Do your children know God? Do your children know Jesus Christ? Those around us are learning much by how we live and some by what we say. Our walk always talks louder than our talk.
