Our Scripture reading this morning is 1 John 4:9-10.

Verse 10, "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son  to be the propitiation for our sins."

Any love that we have did not originate with us.  All love originated with God for God is love.  The creator God allowed His sinless Son to become sin for us.  His precious blood became the covering for our sins.  Once we, by faith, accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour; God no longer sees our sins.  Instead, God sees the righteousness of His Son.  We are redeemed!

It is our responsibility to take the love we have been given and share it with those around us.  The first place this love should be shared is within our own families.  Whatever your family looks like, they need the love God has given you.  The next place the love of God should be shared is with everyone else around us.  It may sound simple, but I am not so sure it is.  We must yield to the Spirit of God daily in order to love properly.  He will help us love others even when we do not feel like it.
