Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 4:25-27.
Verse 27, "Neither give place to the devil."
A short, but very powerful warning is given by the Apostle Paul. The church at Ephesus and all born again believers today are to avoid giving any opportunity or occasion to the devil. The devil is powerful enough. Far too many Christians are making it easy for him to enter into their life bringing destruction by opening the door to their heart. An old song I learned years aho says, "Shut the door...keep out the devil. Shut the door, keep the devil in the night...shut the door!"
I would like to challenge us all to search carefully and see what doors have been left open that need to be closed right away. We might find the door of unforgiveness...close it! We might find the door of bitterness...close it! We might find the door of anger...close it! We might find the door of apathy...close it!! We might find the door of unGodly music and entertainement...shut the door!! Seek the help of God's Spirit in closing all the doors of opportunity that we have opened to our enemy.
