Our Scripture reading today is Revelation 11:15-17.
Verse 15, "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever."
This day will be a day of rejoicing like we have never seen before. The Lord Jesus will be in charge of the kingdoms of this world. Our would continues to spiral out of control due to the sinful condition of it's rulers and citizens. The current powers of this world are for the most part coming from the enemy of God. Behind every murder is the devil. Behind every rape is the devil. Behind every form of abuse is the devil. Behind all forms of pride is the devil. Unfortunately, we see all of the above and more each day of our lives. This is as a result of a society that claims there is no God and we can live however we want.
Our text verse describes a day when there will be a perfect Ruler overseeing everything. All of the wrongs will definitely be made right. There will be peace comparable only to the Garden of Eden before the fall of man. Mankind has proven he cannot reign without it turning into a mess. When we allow the Lord Jesus to rule our lives, He will do a work in us that only He can receive the glory for. Philippians 1:6, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
