Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 4:14-16.
Verse 15, "But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:"
There are several observations that can be made from this verse of Scripture.
First, we are admonished to speak the truth that was once delivered. Are you speaking the truth? Is your life a living testimony of what God has done in you? Is there anyone in your circle that you are building a relationship with so that you can speak the truth of the Gospel? If we who have the message aka the truth, do not speak it, how will the lost come to God for forgiveness through Jesus Christ? We are God's ambassadors and must deliver His message!
Second, we are admonished regarding how we are to speak the truth. Our motivation for delivering the truth must be love. First, a love for the One Who made it possible that we could be forgiven and have a message to deliver. Do we truly love God? It will be revealed in whether or not we are keeping His commandments. Next, as we love God, we will love who He loves. In other words, a love for God will lead to a love for ALL people.
Thirdly, we are admonished to grow up. Jesus Christ did not save us to stay the same. He saved us to bring glory to God the Father. Ephesians 2:10, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." It is time for God's children to grow up in Jesus Christ and live each and every day drawing closer to Him!!
