Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 6:10-13.
Verse 13, "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
The entire suit of armour that God has provided for us is greatly needed if we are planning to withstand the attacks of our enemy.  Our fleshly strength is not capable of overcoming the wiles of the devil.  We must take them unto us every day in order that we might be standing at the end of the day.
The word, "stand", carries with it a multiplicity of meanings:
* It means that we will be attacked.  Attacks should not come as a surprise.
* It means that we must not be afraid.  God does not give us the spirit of fear.
* It means that we must not slouch; nor be uncertain or half-hearted in the fight (no self-pity is allowed).  God is good and He is with us.
*It means that we are at our position and paying attention.
*It means that we do not give even a thought to retreat.
I cannot tell you how much this passage is needed in my life and especially right now.  How about you?
God is faithful.
