Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 5:14-15.
Verse 15, "But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another."
There is a warning here to the family of God in relation to how we get along with one another.  We could imagine a pack of wild animals.  They might be together, but at any moment, they can be devouring and biting one another.  It is all about making sure self has everything it needs.  Two selfish people put together will eventually be consuming one another.  “The loveless life is a life lived on the level of animals, with a concern only for oneself, no matter what the cost to other people.” (Morris)
Please take a moment and read verse 14 again.  Read it again.  Instead of biting and devouring, we ought to be loving and serving one another.  Our enemy does a good enough job of devouring.  He does not need your help or mine.  When the Holy Spirit is allowed to guide a church family there will be unity, love and forgiveness.  This testimony speaks well to the lost world and it brings glory to God!
