Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 24:4-8.
Verse 4, "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you."
The enemy of all mankind is a deceiver. There is absolutely no truth found in the devil. He is not just a liar, but he is the father of lies. John 8:44, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." He also has a team of helpers that are seeking to deceive and destroy everyone possible. We are no match for the devil and and his demons. This sounds like a hopeless task.
Our God has given us a living Book...His holy, Word! If we take heed to His Word, it will enable us to see through our enemies deception. God's Word is truth! The closer we are to the truth, the easier it will become to identify error. It is foolish to study error to know how to overcome it. If we will read, study, and meditate on God's Word, we will be prepared when the temptation comes. This is when we apply the truth and win the battle. VICTORY comes through the TRUTH!
