Our Scripture reading today is John 15:10-14.
Verse 13, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
Our Saviour, Jesus Christ, made the ultimate sacrifice when He willingly became obedient unto the death of the cross. He died so sinner like us could live. Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." The greatest expression of love can be seen at the cross. God the Father allowing His sinless Son to be sacrificed for sin.
We have Jesus Christ' example to follow as we seek to love those around us. This kind of love is constantly giving. It is God who enables us to give of ourselves as we yield to His will. Our love and care for others will open the door of their heart to allow us to preach the Gospel. Time is needed to lovingly build a relationship and at the same time planting Gospel seeds as the Holy Spirit leads. There is no better time than the present to love those around us to JESUS!
