Our Scripture reading today is Philippians 4:4-7.
Verse 6, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
Thanksgiving can sometimes be only attributed to the bountiful blessings we receive from our Heavenly Father.  The Apostle Paul writes from prison to the church at Philippi and admonishes them to be thankful for everything which would include sitting in prison for preaching the Gospel.  He also wrote, "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  1 Thessalonians 5:18
Have you ever been asked to make a list of reasons you are thankful?  Have you ever seen someone else's list?  I am guessing having cancer and losing a job did not make the list.  It takes a close walk with the Lord to get to the place where we can be thankful in every challenge and difficulty that He allows into our life.  An attitude of thanksgiving in every thing comes forth from an individual who is truly living by faith.  May we, like the Apostles in Luke 17:5 say, "Lord, increase our faith."
