Our Scripture reading today is Luke 10:41-42, "And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."
There would have been compassion in His voice when Jesus explained to Martha that while she was very busy, she had missed the most important activity of the day. Her time with Jesus should not have been replaced with working or serving Jesus.
Life can cause us to be involved in many things and bring us to a place of fulfillment in the busyness. Our satisfaction should come in our daily walk with the Lord which draws us closer to Him. “If we would be strong for service in the strength that prevents distraction and unrest, we must know what it is to find time amid all the duties of life to sit at His feet as disciples.” (Morgan)
Choose the best part today and spend time thanking the Lord Jesus for His love and leading in your life.
