Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 24:1-2.
Verse 1, "The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."
Every time I read Psalm 24, I am reminded that everything I have belongs to God. This would include, but not be limited to ten percent of my income. The earth and the fulness of it belongs to the LORD. He asks us to be faithful stewards. Notice the last phrase of verse 1, "...and they that dwell..." We belong to the LORD as well. He created us in His image that we might bring Him honour and glory!
Another thought that come to mind when reading these verses is that God is in control. He is all powerful. If the earth is His, and it is, then my confidence ought to be placed in Him. He always does that which is right. The rulers of this world might think they have power. Their so called power and authority is no match for our Creator! As we meditate on this, a peace that passes all understanding will come over us. Remember...He has the whole world in His hands and that includes you and me!
