Our Scripture reading today is Ecclesiastes 7:8, "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit."

Many times I can remember coming to the last page of a children's book and reading... "The End."  We had completed reading the entire book.  What is "the end" for the follower of Jesus Christ?  In one sense, there is no end.  In another sense, we can see our physical lives do come to end and that is not a time of sorrow for the one who is experiencing the end.  He or she is leaving this sinful world and entering the presence of their Saviour.  There is NO better "ending"!

There is great peace in knowing our end is not dependent on us.  In fact, the time we have before our end is also not dependent on us.  Philippians 1:6, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"  As born again believers, we can rest assured that we are in His hands and His plan is for our good and to bring Him much glory.  It is our responsibility to patiently wait on Him to reveal certain things according to His perfect will.  Our kids never liked to see "The End", but for the believer it IS most definitely better than the beginning.

Have a wonderful day!
