Our Scripture reading today is Luke 24:47-48.
Verse 48, "And ye are witnesses of these things."
These men had seen everything take place that the Lord Jesus had been reminding them about. We could call them eye witnesses. As witnesses, it was up to them to pass along what they seen and heard. They were the beginning of what Luke wrote about in Acts 1:8, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
The message of these witnesses has been preserved and passed on to generation after generation. We have the privilege and responsibility to tell what we have been told. It has been told to us by pastors, teachers, friends or even strangers. However, there is one source above all where we have heard this message. God's Word is our source for truth. God's Word is what we are to be testifying to this lost, hopeless world. Are you being a faithful witness?
