Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 24:23-25.
Verse 24, "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
Deception has been around since the Garden of Eden. 1 Timothy 2:14, "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." Deception will continue until Satan is cast into the Lake of Fire. He is the creator and sustainer of deception. The end result of being deceived is bondage and destruction. These are some of the objectives Satan has for your life and mine.
TRUTH is and will always be what sets us free from deception. John 8:32, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." It is vital that we expose ourselves to as much truth as possible. Reading, memorizing, and meditating on the Word of God will equip us for the deception that Satan will use. We are no match for his lies if we try and defeat Him in the power of the flesh. However, the Truth of God's Word is undefeated in battle. Ephesians 6:14, "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;" Prepare yourself for the deception of our enemy by surrounding your heart and mind with truth!
