Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.

Verse 4: "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)"

The warfare that the Apostle Paul is speaking of does not look like what our history books describe about any war from the past.  This war is not hand to hand combat or even fighter pilots in their planes.  Paul makes it clear when he says our weapons "are not carnal".  He is of course referring to a spiritual war.  The overall war has already been won when Jesus Christ said, "It is finished!"  What looked like defeat would turn to the ultimate victory three days later when His tomb was discovered to be empty.  Jesus Christ is alive...He lives!

It is imperative that we realize we are no match for our enemy.  We must continue to live day by day in the power of this victory.  The child of God needs spiritual nourishment to be strong enough to withstand the wiles of the devil.  Our time in the Word of God and in prayer will prepare us and sustain us.  Paul wrote to Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:12, "Fight the good fight of faith..."  This same challenge can be applied to every follower of Jesus Christ.  Onward Christian Soldiers!
