Our Scripture reading today is Isaiah 28:16, "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste." and 1 Peter 2:6, "Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and that believeth on him shall not be confounded."
The foundation of every structure is of the utmost importance.  It will more than likely determine how the house or building lasts over time and definitely through a storm.  There is a foundation of greater importance.  It is the foundation that we build our lives on.  We have one life and the foundation we choose will determine not only our eternal destination, but also how we last in this life.
The prophet Isaiah introduces us to the foundation we need to live a life of stability.  The Lord Jesus is the corner stone.  He is Who we are to build our lives on for eternity and for our brief pilgrimage here.  The Apostle Peter emphasizes this as well in his epistle.  Our life is built on Jesus Christ for our salvation and our sanctification.  He is the tried and tested source for the building project of our lives.  He is the Rock that cannot be moved.  Build your life on the Lord Jesus Christ and the blessings will come down.
