Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 20:5-7.
Verse 7, "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God."
There is a different type of battle being portrayed in our text this morning.  Whether it is in the days of the Psalmist or in our current generation, there is a fierce conflict going on around us every day.  The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 10:4, "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)". Chariots, horses, tanks, or rockets will not be what makes the difference in the spiritual battle that surrounds us today.
Our guaranteed weapon of victory is not a missile, but it is a name, the Lord Jesus Christ!  It would behoove us to get to know the names of our God.  What do they mean?  How do they apply to your battle today?  There is strength, healing and so much more in the name of our God.  "Alas, how many in our day who profess to be the Lord's are as abjectly dependent upon their fellow-men or upon an arm of flesh in some shape or other, as if they had never known the name of Jehovah at all." (Spurgeon)
Our Saviour is all powerful!  Philippians 2:6, "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;"  We have complete security in His name.
