Our Scripture reading today is Philippians 2:4, "Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others."
It is easy to have tunnel vision when it comes to being burdened and weighed down.  The Apostle Paul reminds us that there are others all around us every day who also have many burdens and trials.  Our difficulties can sometimes blind us to what others are going through.  We can tend to think only about me, me, and me.  It is not that we should ignore our personal needs, but that we should also consider the needs of those around us.  What we need more of is selfless Christian living.  It should be our daily goal to see and speak to others as Christ would.  Luke 10:27, "And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself."
With the help of the Lord, we can encourage someone around us today simply by being aware of their needs and then doing what we can to meet the need.
