Our Scripture reading today is 2 Peter 1:2-4.
Verse 3, "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:"
All that we have today has been given to us by the power of God.  We have life physically and eternally because of His power.  There is victory over temptation through the power of His Spirit that is working in us.  As one song we sing says, "His power can make you what you ought to be."  It is impossible for us to make ourselves, but God can do anything but fail.
The power of God is available to those who seek it and are in a right standing with
God.  It is not to be used for gain, but only for His glory.  The more time we spend reading and meditating on His Word, we will know how much we are in need of His power to live in victory.  God's Word will help us to prepare to receive His power as well as using it in a way that honours and glorifies Him.  Our weakest moments can be times of great power as the Holy Spirit is working in and through us.  Praise God for His wonder working power!
