Our Scripture reading today is James 1:2-4.
Verse 2, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;"
Near this verse, I have written in the margin of my Bible, "Enjoy the prospect of trials." I am still attempting to have that motto in my life.  James did not say to the family of God that various trials might come.  James said "when" they come.  The word, "count", is translated from a word that means to have power or authority over.  Our trials and temptations are not to own us.  We are to anticipate them and know that they are producing patience in us for the glory of God.  I would also like to point out the word, "fall."  When we fall into something, we are surrounded by whatever we fell into.  Psalm 116:3, "The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow."  Do you feel surrounded today?
There is a reminder in verse 5 of James 1 that if we need wisdom, we to ask God for it.  He has plenty for all of His children.  The temptation or trial you are in today is meant to do a work in your like that brings you closer to God.  In order to squeeze the most of it, we need wisdom.     Decide today to be joyful in trial and walk through with the wisdom of our Heavenly Father.
