Our Scripture reading today is Genesis 18:24-26.
Verse 24, "Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city:"
This is the famous conversation between Abraham and God about Sodom and Gomorrah. Would God spare the city for fifty righteous? The number actually came down to ten, but there wasn't even ten righteous people found. Quite the sad commentary considering Lot and his family were there. They had allowed the people of Sodom and Gomorrah to change them instead of their testimony changing the people.
We are challenged in Romans 12:2, "And be not conformed to this world..." As a follower of Jesus Christ, we must be salt and light. We must allow the Holy Spirit to help us to live a righteous life for His glory and for our testimony. There is no better time than the present for you to fear God and keep His commandments. The world needs to see what it really means to be righteous.
