Our Scripture reading today is Luke 4:1-2, "And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered."
We have a faithful heavenly Father Who knows exactly what we can handle. He has all the tools necessary for us to overcome the testing He allows into our life. 1 Corinthians 10:13, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
This morning, I received encouragement from the phrase, "When they were ended." While it must have been a grueling 40 days, they came to an end. There is an end to whatever God has allowed into your life. There is an end to heartache and suffering. Time and time again, God has proven Himself faithful.  He is with us until the end and will provide us a way of escape.
