Our Scripture reading today is Exodus 20:9-11.
Verse 9, "Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:"
We live in a day when some try to do less and want more.  I am thankful for an upbringing that included the importance if working hard for the pay you were receiving.  No young person, including myself, is always excited about going work. There is something very fulfilling on payday when labour has been put forth.  Proverbs 14:23, "In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury."  Notice the second half of the verse reminds us that standing around talking doesn't pay much.  I can remember hearing something life, "Stop talking and get to work."  I think that was the Turner Translation of this verse.  Now that statement is reversed for me.  "Get to work and start preaching."  :)
Give thanks today for the work God has provided you and your family.  May our labour today be done not simply for the paycheque, but also for His glory!  I Corinthians 10:31
