Our Scripture reading today is Philippians 2:8-11.
Verse 11, "And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Isn't it amazing that sinners like you and me can confess that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour? Every sinner has the opportunity to make this decision by his or her own free will. This takes place prior to our physical death. There will come a day when every knee that has not bowed will bow as Paul writes in our reading today.
As we consider knees bowing and tongues confessing we are drawn what is to total submission to Jesus Christ. If you are not a born again Christian, you are taking a great risk of not entering Heaven's gate. Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father. (John 14:6) Today, can be the day of your salvation! If you are a born again Christian, but are still unwilling to submit to God's will for your life, there is no better time than the present to humble yourself and yield to His will. It is not easy, but He tells us that all things will work together for good to those who love Him. (Romans 8:28)
Jesus Christ set the example and we should willingly follow in His steps.
