Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 24:4-8.

Verse 4, "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you."

The best way to prevent oneself from being deceived is to be constantly exposed to the truth.  Just yesterday, I mentioned to a brother in Christ that we need to be consuming as much truth as possible in these days.  This was in context of being able to identify error. The more truth we know, the easier it will be to identify and separate from error.  Our enemy is all about deception.  We must be prepared!

Ephesians chapter 6 lists for us the armour of God that we need to be dressed in every day.  The first piece mentioned in verse 14 is the belt of TRUTH.  "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth..."  The belt was essential to the soldier being able to freely move about during battle.  It put the soldier in a battle frame of mind.  We are in a spiritual battle everyday.  We must make sure we are equipped and ready to stand.  God has provided us all we need to overcome our enemy and be victorious!
