Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 11:23, "By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment."
How many of you know who Amram and Jochebed are? How many of you know who Moses is? We know more about Moses than we know about the first two names. He was used by God to write the first five books of the Bible. Moses was the leader of the children of Israel. His resume for the Lord is rather lengthy.
There would not be a Moses had it not been for the faith of his parents, Amram and Jochebed. Their names are not mentioned in the hall of faith, but they are there. Moses' parents had enough courage to obey God rather than man. They believed God had a special plan for Moses and were willing to step out by faith. We are still being blessed thousands of years later by their faith.
