Our Scripture reading today is Luke 24:45, "Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,"
These men were listening to the greatest teacher ever and yet they still needed light to enable them to comprehend what they were hearing. These men, like us today, need our eyes to be opened to the truths packaged in the Word of God. David said it this way, "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of they law." (Psalm 119:18)
Following Christ's ascension, the Holy Ghost was given to all believers. The very moment we believed that Jesus Christ was God's Son and the only way to Heaven and then received God's gift of eternal life, we were in dwelt with the Spirit of God. This means we have the author of the Word of God living inside of us. He is more than willing to give us the understanding and application of what we are reading. If we ask for His help, we will receive it.
