Our Scripture reading today is Luke 3:4-6.
Verse 4, "As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight."

It was prophesied by Isaiah (Isaiah 40:3-5) that John the Baptist would be the voice.  It would be John's voice that pointed people to Jesus Christ as being the Messiah.  John's father, Zacharias, was given this message (Luke 1:76-77) and he passed it on to John.  The angel's voice delivered the message to Zacharias.  Zacharias voice delivered the message to John.  John's voice delivered the message that is still being delivered today.

As long as we have breath, we have a voice that should be used to speak of Jesus Christ and the Gospel message.  Someone or several someones used their voice to deliver the life changing message to us.  It is now our turn to deliver the truth.  John 11:25, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:" John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
