Today's Scripture reading is 2 John 1:6-8.
Verse 6, "And this is love, that we walk after his commandments..."
Our love for our Heavenly Father is displayed in how we walk in His ways. John writes it this way in the Gospel according to John chapter fifteen and verse fourteen, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Clearly stated, our love is proven by our obedience. His commandments are for our benefit. They are there to protect us from our own ways and the temptations of our enemy. 1 John 5:3, "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." God's commandments are not a burden; instead, they are a blessing!
