Our Scripture reading today is Nehemiah 1:1-3.
Verse 3, "...the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down."
City walls were a picture of security and protection.  If the walls were broken down it meant that the attacking nation had penetrated and in turn would more than likely conquer the city.
There is an all out attack today.  This attack is not to penetrate the city where you live.  This attack is for our hearts.  The attack today is not from an invading army as it was in Nehemiah's day.  We are facing an attack today from the enemy of truth, "That old serpent,  called the Devil, and Satan".  Revelation 12:9 goes on to say that he is deceiving the whole world.  We must be on guard.  We must have a high and holy walls around our heart and mind.
Here are several walls that every Christian must have:
1. Wall of the Word...do you read and meditate on God's Word?
2. Wall of Worship...do you humble yourself daily before His throne?
3. Wall of Willingness...are you surrendered to His will?
May we seek the Lord's power in building these and many others walls for His glory!
