Today’s Scripture reading is Matthew 23:37-39.
Verse 38, "Behold, your house is left unto you desolate."
This is a sad commentary for the city of Jerusalem.  They had rejected the grace and love of God over and over again.  Each time He reached out to them, they did not accept His offer.  Now, they are left with a city and more importantly a temple that are dry and barren.  This is a picture of the lives of men and women who reject Jesus Christ.  There can be no real joy or peach apart from the Lord Jesus.  The condition of our world today is a direct reflection of these verses of Scripture.  When God is pushed out time and time again, there will come a barrenness of heart and soul.  There will be a void that cannot be filled by man no matter how many attempts he makes.
As children of God, we must continue to seek the Holy Spirit's leading in our lives.  The lost, desolate world is in need of the water of life that only God can provide.  Our witness can lead them to that water.
Have a wonderful day!
