Our Scripture reading today is Luke 12:54-56.

Verse 56, "Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?"

The time that the Lord Jesus is referring to is when He will return to take His children to Heaven.  We cannot be sure of the exact time, but we can be sure that He is coming soon.  My definition of soon and His do not necessarily need to mean the same thing.  There is no doubt of His promised return.  John 14:1-3

What time is it in your life?  Are times changing?  Are you moving?  Are you graduating?  Are you retiring?  Are you starting a new job?  I am not sure that everyone said yes to at least one of these questions, but we have all been there at some point.  Times can change in an instant.  We may not be prepared when all of the sudden, God allows something into our life that changes our course of direction.  Our preparation for these times must be done in advance.  A daily time of reading and meditating in His Word will become an anchor in times of change.  A faithful involvement at church is also a way of preparation for the times we cannot see.  Considering the times we live in, why would we attend church less or witness less?  I think Jesus words ring true to us today as well.
