Our Scripture reading today is John 9:4, "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work."

What type of "work" are you doing for the LORD?  My work for the LORD should not be viewed as a have to but as a get to.  We have the privilege of serving the King of Kings.  This privilege is only possible because Jesus Christ died in our place.  I was asked by a seven year old boy on Sunday, "Why did they kill Jesus"?  To be honest, I was not expecting this question.  What a sobering reminder of what Jesus Christ submitted Himself so so we could be set free from the penalty of sin!

As we meditate on what we have in Christ, why wouldn't we find every way possible to work in His harvest field.  I would like to encourage you today to ask God for ways you can bring Him more honour and glory.

Your friend,
Pastor

Work, for the night is coming,
Work through the morning hours;
Work while the dew is sparkling,
Work ’mid springing flowers;
Work when the day grows brighter,
Work in the glowing sun;
Work, for the night is coming,
When man’s work is done.
