Our Scripture reading today is Titus 2:13-14.
Verse 14, " Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."
As children of God, we have been redeemed. We are no longer condemned to die spiritually. (See Romans 8:1) We are alive in Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in Heaven. All of these claims can be made because of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. To God be the glory!
Today's Scripture reminds us that our salvation is not only about eternity in Heaven. You and I are to be zealous now of good works. We should use our salvation as a motivation to serve God. Children of God should not be sitting around waiting for the Rapture. We should be labouring in His harvest field. We should be praying for as many opportunities as possible to bring Him glory. Now is the time to live for Jesus!
