Our Scripture reading today is Colossians 4:3-6.
Verse 6, "Let your speech be always with grace..."
We would all have to agree that sometimes we speak before we think.  Typically, this means that those words probably are not filled with much grace.  In this verse, grace is translated from the greek word, charis.  It means acceptable and benefit.  Is what I am about to say to my spouse acceptable and does it have any benefit?  No matter who we are speaking to, it is important to speak with grace.  We read in Matthew 12:34, "...for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."  Our speech doesn't start in our mouth. I think we all knew that. The key to speaking with grace is being filled with the Spirit.  God's Spirit will always lead us to speak with grace.
