Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 16:18, "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon
this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
The church was not man's idea. The Lord Jesus Christ founded the church and He is
still building it over 2,000 years later. It has been attacked time and time again, but He
has faithfully protected it. Every child of God needs to be a member of a local Bible
believing and preaching church. It amazes me today how many people simply attend
church but never join. If the church is God's plan, why would we not want to be in on
that plan?
