Our Scripture reading today is Mark 16:19-20.
Verse 19, "So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
The Lord Jesus finished the work He was sent to accomplish and now He ascends back to Heaven.  As we have mentioned a couple times in recent services, the Lord Jesus is not in our heart, but is in Heaven.  Mark concludes his Gospel record by telling us that Jesus Christ is seated at the right side of God the Father.  Philip looked up into Heaven in Acts 7:55 and saw Jesus standing at the right side of His Father.  It was an imperative for Jesus to return to Heaven in order that the Holy Spirit could come and dwell in every born again believer.  While Jesus in His earthly body was limited geographically, the Holy Spirit would not be.
Jesus Christ continues to fulfill what we read in Romans 8:34, "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us."  John writes that Jesus Christ is preparing a place for us. (John 14:3) While we await His return, it is our responsibility to deliver the truth in the power of the Holy Spirit.  We have His message that is worth delivering and is changing one life at a time!
