Our Scripture reading today is Jude 20-21.
Verse 20, "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the
Holy Ghost,"
Jude challenges all believers with their personal responsibility to grow in their
faith and their walk with God. Yes, we need mentors and disciplers, but they are
not able to make us do anything. There is a clear command from Jude to the
individual to pick up the spiritual tools and build. Praise God, we have His
Spirit to guide us and strengthen us. We are not alone in this building process,
but there isn't anyone who can make us pick up the tools.
How much building have you done this week? How much time was spent in
the Word of God? Did you make time for prayer? Were you faithful to the
services at church? Last time I checked, God does not drive us to church? we
must make the effort. God does not open our Bibles up and read it to us. It is
time for the people of God to wake up, grow up, and build up.
